Palin doesn't try to calm individuals crying out for Obama's death.

... I no longer watch with bemused detachment. In the last several days, I have watched in what comes uncomfortably close to horror. And not at Sen. McCain's puzzling behavior at the recent "town hall" debate. Forget the pitiful sight of Richard Nixon spouting sweat like a cloudburst as he tried to keep up with the nimble (and better informed) JFK. I actually expressed sympathy for McCain. I come not to bury John or to praise him.
What has me frightened is the Sarah Palin road show featuring McCain in what appears to be a supporting role. As she panders to crowds of mostly the GOP base -- I believe some just come for the spectacle -- and as she incites them with irresponsible statements and untruths, she seems nonplused when, according to multiple press reports, including the Washington Post, New York Times and NBC, some in the crowd responded to her Obama swipes with shouts of, "Traitor!," "Terrorist," and even "Kill him!" I'm not exactly surprising anyone when I say there are a lot of wackos in this country. And I don't mean your garden-variety Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, or Bill-O brand of wacko. They engage merely in character assassination. I'm talking about the disturbed and demented variety who shout out "Kill him!" at McCain/Palin rallies. Neither Palin or her campaign advisers appeared to consider calming the nerves of such lunatics. They seem content with what, I feel, they'd call an enthusiastic response.
The McCain/Palin circus moves from battleground state to battleground state, using the same attack tactics ...
I would like to point out some interesting facts about McCain and Palin's ties to those who could be described as "domestic terrorists." Again, according to NBC and The New York Times, McCain sat on the board of the U.S. Council for World Freedom, a chapter of the World Anti-Communist League. McCain joined in 1982 after the Anti-Defamation League called it "a gathering place for racists and anti-Semites" with links to Nazi collaborators and right-wing death squads. In 1986, the Times spoke with a council member who claimed the group provided millions in aid to "communist fighters around the world," including boots for the rebels fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan. The very same rebels who would become the mujahadeen, then evolve into the Taliban and Al-Qaida. Osama bin Laden was one of these rebels. So if you follow the same reasoning that McCain and Palin do connecting Barack Obama to William Ayers, why, John McCain provided Osama bin Laden and his cronies with combat footwear! And what about Palin the lipstick-laden pit bull? In August of this year, she failed to exit her church when David Brickner of the group Jews for Jesus claimed that "terrorism in Israel was God's judgment for rejecting Jesus." Palin's pastor defends this person. Ponder that, Sarah, when you next mention Jeremiah Wright. Furthermore, Palin's husband Todd was a member of the Alaska Independence Party. Gov. Palin told them in March, "Keep up the good work." The founder of this group was a man named Joe Vogler, who openly advocated violent secession from the U.S. In 1993, he planned on screaming about American tyranny at the U.N. Problem was, he needed another country to sponsor him. And what country stepped up and obliged? I'll give you a hint, John McCain wants to "bomb, bomb, bomb" them. Yes, Iran. What a world ...
