Mike Huckabee-Traitorous Idiot
A short article in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette today concerned a response by Mike Huckabee to an alleged statement by John Kerry that dependence on foreign oil was a bad thing for America.
Evidently, Shmuckabee took offense to the alleged statement to the effect that foreign oil was necessary to commerce in south Arkansas!
How can any thinking person see no alternative to foreign oil? The statement by Kerry seemed to be against foreign oil not the internal combustion engine or transportation as a whole. Obviously the governor of Arkansas is not familiar with the nationwide rail system which is more efficient than trucking. How he can defend the American reliance on foreign oil is beyond me. But then again, he lived in a trailer as governor.
The guy is really a nut! In a letter to the editor in the same paper, he was quoted defending his decision to grant clemency to a driver convicted of four DWI's in five years that no one gets jail time for DWI's. That's too bad! Only 200+ people are killed yearly by drunk drivers in Arkansas.
Before he became a laughingstock, Shmuckabee had eyes on the presidency. Now with plenty of ammo to launch a "Willie Horton" like campaign, that is an ever longer shot.
I predict that his handlers will now aim at his replacing Pat Robertson of Jerry Falwell
Watch out for this scumbag! He's as bad a lying, crooked SOB as anyone.

I wouldn't call Huckabee a traitor. However, you're right that the whole point of Kerry's statment is that we SHOULD be less dependent on foreign oil.

Kerry knows that we're extremely dependent on it now.

3. Exactly
I wonder if he can even read much less reason. Kerry did not condemn anything but the dependence on foreign oil. Like many Repukes, Schmuckabee sees no options to the way things are. That is the sure sign of a small mind.

7. Neither would I call him a traitor: would a sanctimonious, reichous,
duplicitous, mendacious, hypocritical ideologue be more descriptive?

2. Why wouldn't Huckabee take offense?
The whole country is turning into Arkansas. He loves the state, he'd love the nation to be just like it.

And there are just a few nice things about Arkansas--Like Heifer International--to be able to point to and say "See, we are all right up here in Booger Holler and down there at Toad Suck, so long as we keep them potheads at Hendricks in line(both are real place names not slurs on Arkansas).

5. Let's take a pleasant stroll down memory lane...
All the way back to Issue #29 of Top 10 Conservative Idiots, where Huckabee took the #1 slot:

"Mike Huckabee, Governor of Arkansas, is not exactly well known for his smarts. Previous gaffes have included calling his own state a banana republic, and praising a website that joked about killing Bill Clinton. But a report in last week's Knoxville News-Sentinel has given Governor Mike a big push all the way to the top of this week's chart. The News-Sentinel revealed that Huckabee was recently tricked by a Canadian broadcaster into believing that Canada's Parliament building was actually made out of ice, and recorded a message of support to the Canadian people. "Hi, I'm Mike Huckabee of Arkansas," said the Governor without a hint of irony, "wanting to say, 'Congratulations, Canada, on preserving your national igloo.'" And before you start sending us e-mails suggesting that "surely nobody could be that pig-ignorant" - we didn't make this up."

Hell, what do you expect from a Baptist preacher? The man is a crook and a cretin.

6. Depends what you mean by "thinking"
You ask: "How can any thinking person see no alternative to foreign oil?"

Well, a lot of thinking people don't consider any alternatives to oil -- foreign or otherwise. Unfortunately, they include all the members of our Energy Task Force.

Not to put too fine a point on it: there is no profit to their thinking about any alternatives to oil. And if there is no profit to it, they don't think about.

When the planet's finally sucked dry, they'll be long gone.

Point of clarification: This is not to imply that Huckabee is a thinking person.
