CNN poll-Support For Iraq Confilct Erodes
Support for Iraq conflict erodes: poll
Sun Apr 11, 3:38 PM ET Add Politics - AFP to My Yahoo!

WASHINGTON (AFP) - US support for the conflict in Iraq (news - web sites) is eroding, according to the latest CNN/Time survey, which found, amid a new Iraqi insurgency against US troops, that 57 percent of Americans think US military goals will fail unless a tougher stance is taken.
Approval of US President George W. Bush (news - web sites) and his administration's handling of Iraq was down to 44 percent of Americans, according to the poll, new elements of which were released Sunday, down from 51 percent surveyed March 26-28.

Meanwhile, Bush's overall approval rating had sunk to a record low of 49 percent since CNN/Time started polling the earliest days of the Bush presidency in 2001.

1. It just goes to show that ultimately stupidity...
...will come back to bite people in the ass.

I had a feeling that this would happen, I just thought it would happen sooner.

2. Unless a "tougher stance is taken"
Maybe it's just me...but How in TF do you take a tougher stance in "liberating people" who don't want you there?

Short of nuking these people what the hell else would we do?

I STILL cannot believe what a pile of crap this admin has landed the US in regarding this mess...I guess I don't understand why, if Iran was part of the dreaded "axis of evil" bush and company have turned Iraq into an extension of Iran by removing Hussein.

What the hell was the point and why in hell is the public so dumb that they think this is just a matter of not being "tough enough"

Freaking idiots!

3. Surprised
That that he even has an approval rating that high. Been checking the news reports all day long. And I am just disheartened with each one.
