1. I hope this story has legs long enough to keep it
in the news for a while.

4. Well, the NYT and WSJ covered it today, so
it should be picked up by the rest of the media. I expect to see it on CNN sometime this evening.

3. Boy were they manipulating that simple asshole
It's almost funny to imagine cheney and rummy discussing this, laughing up their sleeves at how gullible naive and utterly stupid bush was. Searching through the bible that neither of them otherwise gave a flying fuck about to find quotes that would get the moran jacked up and ready to do exactly what they wanted done.

7. Rumsfeld isn't that religious
but he's craven enough to pass on the Top Secret briefings to Bush because he thought Bush liked them. A right-wing nut Pentagon general had the idea....http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/may/18/rumsfeld-gq-iraq-bible-quotes-bush
....snip/
The documents were conceived by Major General Glen Shaffer, a top-level intelligence officer who reported to Rumsfeld. According to GQ, the briefings originally included humorous messages, but Shaffer, a Christian, thought biblical quotes would be more suitable for the born-again president.
