2. Thanks, it's amazing how quickly people seem to forget....
It doesn't help that American and British and other western media aren't allowed into Iran at all right now.

4. This is The Most Important Thing Happening In The Whole Wide World
right now....at least to my mind. It's more important than Cash For Clunkers, more important than a birth certificate signed by a laundry detergent, more important that the admittedly amusing baiting of the Palin-fish, who rises to the bait like a thin-scaled bottom feeder any time anyone pokes her.

What happens in Iran is SO important, not just because of the people who are living in oppressive conditions, and because I have friends there and like the country despite some of their institutionalized backwardness (particularly as regards women), but also because if Iran rapproaches with us, they could play a key role in stabilizing the region, instead of shit-stirring, like they're doing now.

The crackdown IS awful, and getting worse. I think the reason you aren't getting many hits on this Most Important Post is because there were some people who cheered on Ahmadi just because he used to poke Bush, and they probably feel a bit stupid or something. Or maybe they need video to empathize. I've been calling that asshole "Mayor" an asshole from the git-go, he really needs to step out in front of a crosstown orange bus in company with the Supreme--that'd solve everyone's problem.

I do hope not too many more are killed before regime change happens from within. It will happen, too. The only question is how long will it take?

Anyway, if I see an Iran thread, you can count on me for a K/R.
