Tired of watching progressive ideals being sold down the river? Sick of hearing that what we need the most "isn't on the table?" Believe that our legislators are, if not purchased outright, are at least rented with an option to buy? Fairly certain that the reason Single Payer is a No Go is because all those premiums we've been paying for years have been used to apply leverage to the very legislators who are deciding what health care "reform" avenues to pursue? Think it's outrageous that the parasite that's grown fat and sassy on our suffering is being protected at the expense of the very citizens being driven into bankruptcy and/or facing long, painful, PREVENTABLE deaths?
You're not alone. Anyone who denies that these industries in particular (not to mention the banks and credit card companies) have entirely TOO MUCH influence over our elected officials is either willfully blind, complicit, or so naive as to require a third party to handle his or her financial affairs to keep some defunct Nigerian Prince from taking all his or her money.
We'll never see real campaign reform as long as it benefits both our politicians and the industries to whom they peddle their votes. It's senseless to believe the blue dogs in particular will ever turn and bite the hand that feeds them.
So what can we do about it besides bitching and moaning on this or other similar websites?
Easy.
We change the rules.
We can, you know.
:)
(end Part I. Stay tuned for Part II...)
