Cut to the Chase: Health Care Reform Without Republicans

It's time for Democrats to get health care done without Republican sabotage.

::::::::

It's time to cut to the chase. Republicans never wanted to compromise, it's not in their fragmented DNA, and Obama and the Democrats have wasted political capital and time dithering and acting spineless.

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) has the simplest and most effective plan: medicare for all. Just about everyone pays into it all ready.

If Republicans want to pay extra for private insurance, let them. They can even opt out of Medicare and turn over their benefits: that doesn't mean that they stop paying their SS/Medicare taxes though: they are the dues that we all pay to belong to the "Greatest Country in the World."

It's time that both the Democrats and Republicans put up or shut up! Democrats have to be true to their core values, which includes protecting everyone's health:medical and financial.

Republicans need to quit carping about ineffective government. They have just spent 30 years running local, state and federal governments into the ground. It's ineffective because they've been wrecking it.

Republicans can't have it both ways: complaining about bad government while consuming government benefits.

The Dems don't need a super majority to get health care reform done and done right. Let the Republicans filibuster. Keep those hypocrits talking until, one-by-one, their hearts give out and they fall dead at the podium.

The time for action is now and the democrats had better step up to the plate. Otherwise, in 2010 a lot of Dems are going to demand that the spineless Representatives and Senators be replaced with new progressive blood.
