Senator Edward Kennedy dead at age 77

CNN, Associated Press and Reuters have announced that the Massachusetts senator died late on Tuesday night. He was 77 years old. Kennedy had been fighting brain cancer since he was diagnosed in 2008.

Known as Teddy, he was the younger brother of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert Kennedy, both killed by assassins.

In Senator Kennedy's lifetime, he received an honorary knighthood bestoed upon him by Queen Elizabeth II of England, the US Presidential Medal of Freedom and a variety of honors were bestowed upon him by foreign allies and dignitaries.

Kennedy was a strong proponent of health care reform and endorsed President Barack Obama last year before the Super Tuesday primaries.

I had the opportunity to meet him in 2000, I hope that some of todays liberals can do half as much as he has done for people.

I hope that Chris Kennedy decides to run in IL.
