The report quoted Charles Luyckx, chief executive of Elliott International, as saying the number of South Africans using his company’s services to return home in the past few months – approximately 60 per month – has almost doubled from the same period last year. Luyckx estimated that Elliott has a market share of between 25 and 30 percent.
Another company, Stuttaford Van Lines, said it had handled 80 repatriations in the second quarter of 2009 – a third more than in the same period last year.
