Dodd, Democrat of Connecticut, is expected to remain as chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, Senate officials said Tuesday night, rather than succeed the late Edward M. Kennedy as head of the health panel.
Mr. Dodd, a close friend of Mr. Kennedy, shepherded a health overhaul through the health committee earlier this summer in Mr. Kennedy's absence. Many expected him to assume the chairmanship of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee to see any measure through to the end.

Of course he's staying on Banking. Where do you think he's going to get a better fat cat
lobbying spot?
I think he's deliberately throwing the race in CT so he can cash in for past {and future}
bank lobby favors - - past like approving Big Buck Bonuses.
Too bad Dick Blumenthal won't challenge him in the primary. Whoever runs against him in
the primary has my vote.
Anyways, for every Congress Member, there's about a half dozen lobbyists {as I'm sure Dodd will
soon become}on top of each Member.
So who represents us?
