Fed up with the process : The federal hiring process needs to be changed

With the current state of unemployment being at 9.7 percent, many job seekers are searching for organizations that offer security in these uncertain times. In the past, the government has provided the answer...

A recent assessment offered by top human resource managers at three major agencies for hiring and employment concluded that the hiring process for the federal government is cumbersome to say the least...

...It doesn�t help when vacancies are often written in arcane, coded language that is not digestible to the non-federal civilian...

1. Understanding the job description is half the battle.

But what really gets me is the 6 weeks to 3 months it takes them to tell you "Thanks for your interest, but the position has been filled." Geez, it's like waiting for a doctor's appointment!

2. yeah, it's tough to get through the BS for a Federal position

and you can pretty much forget getting hired if you're not a veteran.
