1. the rule of war
I've come to the conclusion that the entire notion of "rules of war" is an unhealthy delusion. People use it to delude themselves that the latest war is OK, and surely *their* side is following the "rules of war", which makes it all somehow palatable. An unpleasant necessity, but mitigated by "rules."

I'd like to see more discussion about the *realities* of war, not "rules". That photo from your link would be a good place for people to start. If there were justice, photos like that would be widely circulated *before* the decision is made to embark on a war.
