Spy Agencies Failed to Collate Clues on Terror
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/31/us/31terror.html?partner=rss&emc=rss

The National Security Agency four months ago intercepted conversations among leaders of Al Qaeda in Yemen discussing a plot to use a Nigerian man for a coming terrorist attack, but American spy agencies later failed to combine the intercepts with other information that might have disrupted last week’s attempted airline bombing.

The electronic intercepts were translated and disseminated across classified computer networks, government officials said on Wednesday, but analysts at the National Counterterrorism Center in Washington did not synthesize the eavesdropping intelligence with information gathered in November when the father of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, now accused of the attempted bombing, visited the United States Embassy in Nigeria to express concerns about his son’s radicalization.

The father, a wealthy Nigerian businessman named Alhaji Umaru Mutallab, had urgently sought help from American and Nigerian security officials when cellphone text messages from his son revealed that he was in Yemen and had become a fervent radical.

A family cousin quoted the father as warning officials from the State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency in Nigeria: “Look at the texts he’s sending. He’s a security threat.”

The cousin said: “They promised to look into it. They didn’t take him seriously.”

was the father.

2. 'The flood of intelligence
collected against a scattered and shadowy terrorist network continues to grow, threatening to overwhelm the system, said Matthew M. Aid, an intelligence historian whose book, “The Secret Sentry,” examines the N.S.A.

The eavesdropping agency, tracking e-mail and cellphone traffic around the world, each day collects four times the volume of information stored in the Library of Congress, Mr. Aid said.

“To pluck out the important threats is an almost impossible task,” he said.'

3. The intelligence agencies have no intention of stopping terrorism
Because they are the main creators of it the past 40 years. The world's intelligence agencies can go on and on about lone nut patsies and Al-Qaeda but can never connect the larger dots for us? 9/11 was just a one off done by 19 Saudis bozos who various friendly intelligence groups were tracking but apparently uninterested in apprehending. The towers fell magically by getting smacked by planes and what seemed to be short burning fire. The Yemen guy is just some Al-Qaeda punk with explosives in his underwear. And Tim McVeigh is just a pissed off loner?

But you may notice how Tim McVeigh's wider network in the Neo-Nazi movement, Philippines, Germany and beyond are never explored by the intelligence agencies or the media? You may see how the media can't explain with a straight face how planes and a weak fire can bring two massive structures down on 9/11 when this has not occurred before? Notice how the Ft. Hood shooter is portrayed as just one lone Al-Qaeda nut with no inside aid who got passed around by U.S. officials although they knew he had been in contact with Al-Qaeda? And yet they moved him to Fort Hood anyways?

They have NO INTENTION OF EVER STOPPING TERRORISM. To stop terrorism you'd have to expose all of the "Inside Men" who keep allowing terror to occur on their watch and reveal to all what the mechanism is that allows this to keep happening(blackmail? Payola? a 5th Column?) If they stopped terrorism and shut down the terror networks which the western governments keep hidden from the wider public view then you would shut down the pork barrel spending on wars, defense contracts and weapons that keep them soaking up trillions of dollars.

Daniel 7 verse 19
19 "Then I desired to know the exact meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its claws of bronze, {and which} devoured, crushed, and trampled down the remainder with its feet,

You can't ask an unrestrained BEAST nicely to stop devouring everything in your kitchen. At some point you just have to force it to stop.

4. Protecting us is not really what they do, is it?
I mean that is the pretext for their existence, but is it what they do? Doesn't this shit happen over and over again? Does anything really change in a way that makes the public safer? Do you feel safer?

5. That's their story and they're sticking to it.

You'd think they could at least be original since it's the same bull they fed us after the catastrophic "failure" on 9/11 (or was it a catastrophic success for our Bushie Spooks?)

OTOH, why would they bother with the effort? We are now collectively as gullible and cowardly as the 1933 Germans, and have been for quite some time. We will swallow any shit they dish and it doesn't matter how stupid or nonsensical or obvious.

In either case, the American Subject Populace would do better if they look at Ol' Fiery Underpants as Corporate Synergy, like McDonalds selling drinks in Avatar cups while the movie is running.

But we won't do that, we can't. After all, the TV doesn't lie.
