Why is that not a good thing? We saw what happens when an administration is strong on terror. Two illegal wars, loss of Constitutional freedoms, Sheet plastic & duct tape instead of logic and common sense.

3. I think the distinction I would make is sane on terror or
keeping the public all frothed up and nuts on terror, playing it for its political value as an entree into Iraq. I doubt that the Bushies ever thought that any of their bullshit was useful for anything except keeping the anxiety level of the people suitably high.

Personally, I think the right course of action would have been to pursue the perpetrators as international criminals, not to have made a war of it at all--not in Afghanistan, and especially not in Iraq.

The cartoon above made me think of this tune - but it does describe the RW's affinity for terrorists and fearmongering very well. IIRC, it was written about incest among vampires - how appropriate!
