I am neither an optimist nor a pessimist, I am a tweenist. I am far too optimistic to be a pessimist and too much of a realist to be an optimist. I am realistic enough to know that everyone who tells you things only tells you what suits their purposes. They tell only those things that they want to tell and always for a reason. No one tells you something for nothing.

I was raised as the youngest child with two older sisters; long before I entered my first day of elementary school I had been the foil and the dupe of a thousand conspiracies. “Dave, why don’t you go to the kitchen and get us some cookies and I’ll watch out for mom.”

“David! What are you doing in that cookie jar?”

“I told him not to, Mom, but he wouldn’t listen to me!”

The obvious solution would have been for me to just not trust them, but I wanted to trust them. They were older and cooler; they got to stay up later and could ride two wheelers and pogo sticks. I wanted to believe because I wanted to be a part of their society. I wanted what they appeared to be offering me, and because they knew that they could use me like a dish rag, time after time.

Due to this early education I take things not with a grain of salt but with a whole shaker of salt. The Internet allows us to look anywhere in the world for facts and opinions. Yemen? A long simmering conflict for regional influence between Iran and Saudi Arabia. Remember that before the overthrow of the Shah, Iran was the number one power in the region, and now it is Saudi Arabia.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab begins saying things that distress his father. “You know, Dad, Allah really is cool. I really kind of like the idea of seventy-two virgins. You know, Dad, if anything happens to me, I want you to have my frequent flyer miles.”

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab’s father says, “My oh my, but my son is talking strangely and I’m so concerned about his behavior. What’s a Nigerian father to do? I know! I’ll contact the American CIA. They’ll know what to do!”

Mr. Mutallab the elder is presented to us by the American press as a banker. “Yes, certainly, Mrs. Obuto, would you like that all in twenties?” But on closer inspection calling Mr. Mutallab as banker is like saying Jesse James was just a farmer. It’s true but only partly true. They want to tell a lie but they have to parse it so they don’t have to join the liar's union.

Mutallab was appointed to the Board of First Bank in 1996 and became its Chairman in 1999. He attended Barewa College, Zaria, Achimota College, Accra, Ghana and the South West London College, London. He started his working career in 1965 as a Management Accountant with Fuller Jenks Beecroft & Co in London. He also served as Chief Accountant/Acting General Manager, Defence Industries Corporation in Kaduna. He was also the Financial Controller of the company.

He rose to become the General Manager, New Nigeria Development Company Limited (NNDC) from 1968 to 1975. In 1975, he was appointed as Federal Commissioner (i.e. Minister) for Economic Development & Reconstruction and was re-assigned to the Federal Ministry of Cooperatives & Supply in 1976.

The New Nigeria Development Company isn’t just a bank with a drive-through ATM on the outside. It is the bank, it is a government-owned corporation. This is the portal for all international aid and development money and Mr. Mutallab Senior was its General Manager. So calling Mutallab a banker is the same as saying that Bernie Madoff dabbled in stocks.

From the CIA factbook: “Oil-rich Nigeria, long hobbled by political instability, corruption, inadequate infrastructure, and poor macroeconomic management, has undertaken several reforms over the past decade. Nigeria's former military rulers failed to diversify the economy away from its overdependence on the capital-intensive oil sector, which provides 95% of foreign exchange earnings and about 80% of budgetary revenues.”

General Manager, Defence Industries Corporation in Kaduna, Mr. Mutallab was the head of the Nigerian arms industry at the height of the cold war. So when he picks up the phone to call the CIA it goes something like this, “Hello, CIA? Could I speak to Bob please? Tell him its Mutallab. Me, oh, I’m fine, and you? Well good, it’s been nice talking with you again. Hello, Bob? It’s me. Listen, Bob, my son’s been talking crazy talk. You know, Allah, virgins and all that crap. You know how kids are, and well he recently changed from briefs to boxers and has been talking about Motown. So I think you better get right on it. Yeah, the wife’s doing fine. Well, happy holidays!"

Isn’t it odd though that the suspected terrorist Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab's father is wrapped up in the oil industry, the arms industry and the banking industry? What are the odds? Of 149,229,090 Nigerians this man’s son is the Al-Qaeda terrorist!

How do we know that he’s an Al-Qaeda terrorist? The source for the Al-Qaeda connection is a company known as IntelCenter. Just who is this IntelCenter? IntelCenter is a private contractor; the company "is a private contractor working for intelligence agencies". Its stated purpose is to "study terrorist groups and other threat actors and disseminating that information in a timely manner to those who can act on it. We look at capabilities and intentions, warnings and indicators, operational characteristics and a wide variety of other points in order to better understand how to interdict terrorist operations and reduce the likelihood of future attacks."

So, then IntelCenter said that they read it on an unnamed website on the Internet. That’s some damn fine investigating there, Chief Wiggam! But it has now been repeated a thousand times, including by the President himself. I’m not saying he’s wrong, I’m just saying that something stinks. This same plot with explosives hidden in clothing has been tried three times and it has failed three times. Either you have terrorists who are wholly incompetent or their goal wasn’t to blow up an airliner but to blow up the fear level. Why would terrorists go to the trouble to initiate a plot that they knew probably wouldn’t work? Why did Mr. Mutallab spend twenty minutes in the lavatory only to return to his seat to set off the bomb? That doesn’t make sense, that just doesn’t make a bit of sense.

More local color from the CIA Fact book: Nigeria is “a transit point for heroin and cocaine intended for European, East Asian, and North American markets; consumer of amphetamines; safe haven for Nigerian narcotraffickers operating worldwide; major money-laundering center; massive corruption and criminal activity.”

The CIA's involvement in narcotics trafficking has been widely reported; Nigeria is the CIA’s Disneyland. Nigeria has got it all, oil, drugs, guns, crooked banks; what’s there not for a CIA man to love?

I freely admit that I am cynical because life has taught me to be cynical. Fifty percent of Americans will believe whatever they are told without question, because they want to believe. They want comfort and security, and besides, the government would never lie to us. They are our servants and have no other agendas. Another twenty-five percent will believe after investigating local media sources. “I’ll just check CNN or the New York Times or Fox News.”

But the remaining minority twenty-five percent of jaded and cynical tweenists will ask ourselves, "What would George W. Bush do when unpopular legislation was headed for a final vote?" What are the odds that the son of a man in the oil industry, the banking industry, undoubtedly with connections to the CIA in an incredibly corrupt country, would be an Al-Qaeda terrorist attempting to blow up an airliner with a plot that has never worked?

About the same odds that the father of the man who murdered John Lennon sold his oil company to George Bush Senior, but Bush claims no recollection of ever meeting him.


Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab will undoubtedly be convicted on all charges and be sentenced to life in prison without parole. But who will serve that time? Who will be in that cell a year or two years from now, and how will we know?

If there are terrorists there, and that's a big IF, because the whole underwear bomber story sounds fishy on many levels, get the permission of the Yemeni government to go in with a small strike force.

There was a lot of anger building up about the insurance sell-out and the big bank bail-outs so that means what? Of course!
It means it's time to ratchet up the booga booga fear factor.
Takes those peasant's minds right off what Congress is doing.
Throw in some sex (poor ol Tiger..caught in a honey pot sting)..and then some freaky stuff (underwear? Butt cheeks and gonads being blown up?..my how facinating....) and a plot that can't hold water...and you have something the MSM can focus on for days and divert our little minds....while the real crimes go unreported and uncommented on and the real crooks walk free.
Never mind people are dying waiting for this health care bill to be made right.
Never mind the mandatory buying of a product from a private company is unconstitutional.....its all good..and if they get away with this... Congress can then tell you every single thing you HAVE to buy and from what companies too.
It is also so very nice too that this particular country that this skivvy packing dude is from...is right in the key position for the oil and drug supply lines.
You know..the same ones that our kids are dying for in iraq and Afghanistan?

This also takes the stupid people's mind off the fact that a super virus isn't killing millions of us. And that we stuck unknown chemicals into our kids and elderly and loved ones that were NEVER TESTED. And that now..after all the hype and booga booga... millions of dollars worth of flu shots that YOU and YOURS will still have to pay for..are being dumped already into the water tables..around the world because....tah-dah!!! There was No world wide pandemic plague killing millions and your tax dollars went straight into Donald Rumsfeld's pockets.
Here is another motive...with Americans focused on some crazy dude with bombs in his underalls maybe there wont be so much outrage at the millions more being forced onto the streets..and the foreclosures and the lay-off coming.
Oh yes...Christmas is over...jobs will be lost big time now because this is the time of year that always happens anyways. It wont look too good if Americans actually stop and take a good look at how bad the employment situation really is.
At the Holiday season...we all were treated to stories of how bright everything is looking because more people were "going back to work."
The three month window of yearly high employment is over and all those "new jobs" will be laying off.
We are also entering into the time of year that businesses that didn't do so good...will be folding as well.
As a former owner of a few shops during my lifetime..I can tell you that if your having bad sales and want to close..you try to make it through Christmas and the Holidays and then you close.
And lets not forget that we don't want people to stop being afraid of the bogeymen and shutting down the wars because that would mean losses for the war machine.
There is big money to be made by the elite in wars on terror..wars on drugs...but most of all...war on the taxpayers....

I'd say you totally answered that question.
