Pet dog survives rattlesnake attack
"Since a chance encounter with Michigan's only
venomous snake, Kodi, a 3-year-old Samoyed,
has lost control of an eyelid, drools and can't
handle hot weather.

But to Brenda Lacroix of Davisburg, Kodi is a
114-pound white knight that saved her from a
snake attack during a June walk in Shiawassee
Basin Park in Springfield Township. And without
antivenom from the Detroit Zoo, she believes she
would have lost him.

"Some days, I look at him and my heart breaks,
'What a brave boy,' " she said. . ."

Wish I could post the pic of the sweet doggy, but the Free Press doesn't allow it. Check the link.

Might lose one of ours soon; 15 and failing. I have been privileged in my life to be owned by the best dogs in the world. Kodi sounds like one I would like to get to know.

1. I had to part with two 13 year olds in the last 3 years.
Now have the most affectionate 1 year old Lab-Springer mix you can ever meet. Meet Sara, Queen of the Loveseat.

Missy was 16. We shall always remember her.

7. I didn't realize that rattlers were so rare in Michigan.
My dog was bitten by a rattler in AZ when I was in 5th grade. It was touch and go for about a week, but he came through it. He couldn't lift his head and we kept water right by his nose.

What a beautiful pup he is. It's ok about the drool. My Jake drools, but he doesn't have a rattlesnake encounter as an excuse!
