Two brief excerpts from Michael Moore's July 2004 Playboy interview
EXCERPT 1:

"Does anybody in his right mind think we're safer now? Homeland Security is an excuse to take away our rights, spy on us and isolate dissenters with accusations that they are unpatriotic and dangerous. They are eroding our rights and freedoms, doing the terrorists' work for them. We're telling the terrorists, "You're not going to take our freedoms away, you bastards. We're going to do it ourselves." We will spy on our own citizens in the guise of making them safer. We will read their mail, listen on their phones, search them at will, lock them up without explanation. Yet no one is safer. We are hated throughout the world now more than ever before, precisely because of Bush's so-called war on terror. Any country operating unilaterally, orchestrating a war, and doing so under the guise of a lie that has been exposed as a lie, becomes a bigger, not a smaller, target. The lying is unfathomable."

EXCERPT 2:

"Four more years means the next 40 years will be ruled by the right. They have a plan called a permanent Republican-controlled country. It's essentially in place now that they have the House, Senate, White House, Supreme Court and a majority of governorships. The Republicans are operating on two main tracks. One is to reduce the personal freedoms and liberties of the average citizen. The other is to line the pockets of corporate America, not only helping with tax breaks and making it even wealthier but essentially being its partner, a co-governing body of America. The business community - Wall Street - is where the real power is. When I listen to right-wing talk radio I think, Why are they so angry? They've got it all. They govern."

1. I'm so glad Bush is so incomptent.
I'm very, very glad that Bush is a moron and surrounds himself with fellow morons.

If Bush had any ability at all, he could have achieved this "40 year Reich" Moore is talking about. Especially after 9/11, it gave them an excuse to seize even more power, it was their Reichstag fire.

But he is so fucking dumb he blew it. He went and invaded Iraq, jumped head first into a quagmire. Really, really stupid.

2. It just hit me today this down-home cynical slant on Bush by Michael Moore
I wasn't even cognizant that he wrote "Stupid White Men" until today. That title made me crack up when I first saw it in the stores. Wow! has he ever gone over on top now! His mannerisms on Letterman tonight were so natural and pants-slapping ironic for the homeboy image he projects. What a guy.
