The Schill IS Gone! Beck's Gold sponsor has assets frozen...

In November 2009, Glenn Beck exercised his Nazi Tourette’s and told his radio show listeners to “think like a German Jew in 1934, maybe 1931.” What does that mean to an American in 2009?

That means buy yourself some gold.

In reality, Glenn Beck may or may not love gold. But one thing’s for certain: He loves shilling for gold. He loves it so much that his entire doom-and-gloom schtick is predicated upon the money he makes from being the official spokesperson of several companies that fleece consumers that are looking to buy gold he directs them to buy.

He tells you that the economy will collapse at any moment, so buy gold. He tells you that the American dollar will collapse at any moment, so buy gold. He tells you that government spending will cause an economic implosion, so buy gold. He tells you that hyper-inflation you see in Zimbabwe is coming to America, so buy gold. In short, his public persona, as he says here, loooves goooold:

1. It doesn't surprise me that idiots who listen to Beck
and their money are easily parted. Thank goodness for those gubmint regulators and prosecutors who try to get them justice.

9. Why is the government interfering with a private business?
Private industry can regulate itself. Why the hell is the government doing anything to this company? This business is a legitimate company that is making lots of profit. The government has better things to do, like kick people off welfare and foodstamps.

:sarcasm:

2. What good does gold do if civilization collapses?
In 1999, my brother-in-law, a somewhat reactionary conservative, though society could come to an end (at least for a few weeks after the New Year) because of the Y2K bug so he bought extra ammunition and food even though I told him that 1) it wasn't going to be that bad and 2) he lived miles in the country with the nearest "large" city being Wichita, Kansas, and any rampaging mob of post-apocalyptical survivors would have run out of steam before getting to his doorstep.

My point is, he didn't buy gold.

5. Agreed
I mean, if I were really convinced that civilization was collapsing getting gold would not be something I'd worry about - I'd be taking the survivalist classes that cropped up after 9/11 and learn to hunt and live out in the wild. :)

7. In a post-apocalyptic world
I'd place more value upon aluminum, steel & copper than gold. I wouldn't take gold coins in exchange for copper pipe, for example.

3. I feel no sympathy for the victims
None. I hope they got royally taken by this company. And that they remember just who told them to buy from them.

8. I hope someone is getting this story to KO & Jon Stewart
That's the most likely way to get ANYone on TV to talk about it.
