Weiner’s confession is too little, too late
Rep. Ryan released his budget proposal, pulling back the curtain yet again on the GOP attack on the middle class and the poor, and the GOP presidential candidates continue to demonstrate why they are better suited for comedy or reality shows than they are for the highest office in our nation.

Momentum is finally starting to swing back toward logic and sanity, then one of the congressmen who actually tried to progress the cause is caught shooting pics of his congressional member and sending them to random women not married to him.

We must expect more, we must demand more, we simply must be better

2. Too little for whom, too late for whom?
The only things that bothered me (and I expect, most DUers) were the constant lies by Weiner.

Inappropriate behavior is forgivable: the lies and coverup was less so.

3. I don't care what he did with the pictures....
...or even the cheating. I don't respect it, and it bums me out since I hate infidelity in all it's forms. But he's not a moralizing holier than thou type so there's no hypocricy.

But the outright lying to cover it up is and was just skeevy and leaves me feeling a little ticked off.

And the amount of people on here who are acting either like he did nothing at all wrong, or that just because others on the Repub side have done shittier things, that this makes it o.k. is also a little disheartening but not surprising.

7. In what way is the logic fucking moronic?
With all respect to the opinion you are absolutely entitled to have, I'm curious if you would take a moment of your time to expound on your eloquent rebuttal?

I was not asking anyone to agree with my take on this, but you took the time to reply, how about a little more response?

Thanks for reading though.

8. Who are you referring to?
As with the other reply, I certainly respect the opinion, but wonder who you are directing your vulgarities toward?

Perhaps just a little more explanation before or after the "colorful metaphors" would help avoid some confusion.

Thanks for reading though.

6. As far as I can tell he did nothing illegal; he never preached sexual morality
from his secular pulpit; he apparently did not use gov't property.
There are two things wrong in this whole scenario:
1) The media once again goes 95% in the tank for the corporatists on this and will use it to focus attention away from true issues.
2) Real crooks (let's name some names Bush, Cheney, Thomas, Rumsfeld, banksters - i could go on) are scot free and nary a peep is mentioned about them.
- Every damn newscast in America should begin with something like "day 1340 in the illegal occupation of Iraq."

10. No, just boneheaded stupid
What a dumbass move. He was such a great voice for Dems. I don't care if it was legal. It was stupid.

11. Exactly
That's really all I was trying to say. It's irresponsible if you or I do it, hurtful, stupid, all of those labels, but it takes on another level of stupidity given his position.

A professional athlete doing it pales in accountability. Mark McGwire may not win any honesty campaigns, but he's not shaping public policy or representing progressive ideas that are currently under assault from the fundamental conservatives.

What a shame, in so many ways.

12. This is not the best we have to offer
I was grateful for his passionate voice. I am so disappointed in his behavior. His poor judgement takes the stage from the fight we have before us.

16. Serious failure of judgement on Weiner's part. His constituents get to decide his fate, if he
doesn't resign first. I absolutely appreciate his performances on the floor of Congress.
