Iraq Kicks Out US Congressman over Repayment Remark
(NewsCore) - BAGHDAD -- Iraqi authorities asked for Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) to leave the country Saturday after he called for Baghdad to repay part of the money spent by the US since the 2003 invasion.

Rohrabacher's remarks at a news conference in Baghdad stood in stark contrast to those by senior US officials, who have pressed Iraqi officials to decide soon whether they want US troops to stay beyond a year-end withdrawal deadline.

3. Rohrabacher (Repug-CA) is no diplomat!
He was going to Iraq to deliver an extreme right wing message and he got their answer. Even the Iraqis know when someone is trying to play ping pong politics with their future and did not leave him room to proceed.Rohrabacher needed to go.

6. Also - U.S. lawmakers, Iraq's Maliki clash over killing of Iranians
http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2011/06/10/115614/us-lawmakers-iraqs-maliki-clash.html#storylink=omni_popular

"BAGHDAD — After a "very frank" exchange with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki, a prominent House Republican announced Friday his subcommittee is investigating whether forces under Maliki's command had committed a "crime against humanity" when they killed 35 Iranian dissidents at a camp north of Baghdad on April 8.

Responding to the assertions by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, D-Calif., Maliki asked the U.S. Embassy to remove the U.S. delegation from Iraq immediately, government spokesman Ali Dabbagh said on Alhurra television.

...Rep. Russ Carnahan, D-Mo.,, the ranking Democrat on the subcommittee, stood alongside Rohrabacher as he spoke, as did four other members. Only one of the six, Rep. Jim Costa D-Calif., said there were "differences" within the delegation about the importance of the Camp Ashraf incident in relation to other issues.

...The attack has drawn the condemnation of many top former U.S. national security officials, many of whom have been paid speaker's fees well-into five figures by the Paris-based MEK, according to MEK officials..."

12. I remember Wolfowitz saying the same thing in '03.
He also said we would spend between $20B-$60B.

Dang, that seems like a long time ago.

13. If I was Iraqi, I would have said, "YOU owe US for everything you broke and didn't fix
every person who died above the death rate before the invasion, and the health care for children with birth defects from depleted uranium for the rest of their lives.

If you really want to settle accounts, you end up owing us a hell of a lot more than we owe you.

But thank you for killing Saddam Hussein. We'll pay you for the rope you used to hang him.''
