Nasrallah: Hezbollah Members Confess To Spying For CIA
Hezbollah Secretary-Genereal Hassan Nasrallah on Friday announced that members of his militant movement had confessed to being CIA agents and accused arch-foe Israel of turning to the US spy agency when it failed to infiltrate his Iran-backed party.

In the first such acknowledgment of infiltration since the group's founding in the 1980's, Nasrallah refused to disclose the identities of the two party members but said a third case was under investigation, slamming the US embassy in Lebanon as a "den of spies."

"When the Israeli enemy failed to infiltrate Hezbollah, it turned to the most powerful intelligence agency," Nasrallah said in a closed-circuit television speech broadcast in Lebanon, referring to the Central Intelligence Agency.

"Our investigation has found that... intelligence officers (in the CIA) have recruited two of our members separately, whom we shall not name out of respect for the privacy of their families," he added.

1. When in trouble, blame Mossad and the CIA
Tried and true tactic.

"It appears as if Nasrallah was addressing internal problems within Hezbollah with which we have nothing to do.”

That sounds about right.

2. Personally, I would expect and hope that we have infiltrated these groups and yes,
occasionally our infiltrators are caught. What in the hell is the use of these agencies if they are not doing such intel gathering?

What shall be interesting will be the naming of these supposed 'spies'.

3. Why?
What purpose does it serve for the CIA to infiltrate Hezbollah?

What intel would they be gathering there?

5. Nasrallah says they were instructed by Israel to spy on their behalf
This is something that you are in favor of?

6. Abductive reasoning.
The CIA probably has infiltrated Hizbollah.

Agents can be caught.

Hizbollah claims to have caught CIA agents.

Query: Has Hizbollah actually caught and properly identified any of these CIA agents?

Well, we can't tell. Their claim is *compatible* with having caught them--it's what we'd expect them to say if they caught them. It's certainly plausible. Then again, I'm not completely convinced that the CIA *has* infiltrated Hezbollah. Such organizations tend to be a bit hard to actually "infiltrate". They might be able to buy the loyalties of an agent or two, but again, faith-based organizations tend to be a bit hard to break into.

On the other hand, God's Party's claim is also compatible with their having identified people that a high-ranking Hizbollah staffer wanted out of the way and whose security staff promptly managed to "coax" a confession" out of. Perhaps the humbly named Mr. God's Help himself played a role in this; perhaps not. In any event, this is also certainly plausible.

We have ruled on the ambiguity and determined that Hezbollah must be telling the truth, at least part of the way (the all-powerful Jew having Uncle Sam under his cloven-hoof of a heel is probably not to be considered as telling the truth; this bit of embellishment, however, can be overlooked in order to accept the unmitigated veracity of all other, plausible, statements).
