Press Conference preps progressives for disappointment
It all starts to feel like deja vu at this point, doesn't it? The President, while sounding tough at times regarding Congress just getting it done instead of complaining that the President hasn't stepped up to lead, laid out the too familiar path to compromise.

Reviewing potentially job stifling regulations, accepting that entitlement programs will have to be reviewed, and throwing around the bipartisan word lets those of us on the progressive side know exactly how this latest negotiation on the debt will end, with yet another slap in the face of the lower and middle income people who have been most victimized by the corporate raping of our economy and society.

It is clear that the GOP views shared sacrifice in terms of shared by those not in a position to take a first class trip anywhere in the world at any given time, but our willingness to meet them at their middle is just growing old real fast.

1. It seems to me,
and maybe is not true, the the Dem Congress, the President and the GOP each have a different meaning to the concept of folding. If that is positioning instead then it would all come together. If Jerry Brown is right the GOP are simply unteachable morons and you can't deal with them. I think it is more than that too, Brown being also too deferential, possibly mistaken.

The president is defending the assumption that the GOP at present at the very least has any concern about public welfare at heart. He seems to be sincere despite astounding evidence to the contrary. The lines seem drawn WITH sand.
