Schumer: Republicans’ ‘Slash-And-Burn’ Policies May Be Effort To Sabotage Economy
Well, Gahhhhhhlie, you think so? At least Schumer is talking about this and we must applaud him for it. What's amazing and sad is the fact that ALL Democrats are not calling out the Red State Brigade for their Pol Pot style "Skorched Earth" tactics.

In a blistering Thursday morning speech at the Economic Policy Institute -- a progressive think tank -- Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) asked a question that's been on the minds of many Democrats and progressives: Are Republicans sabotaging the economic recovery as part of their quest to defeat President Obama next year?

"e need to start asking ourselves an uncomfortable questions -- are Republicans slowing down the recovery on purpose for political gain in 2012?" Schumer said. "Senator McConnell made it clear last October that his number one priority, above everything else, is to defeat President Obama. And now it is becoming clear that insisting on a slash-and-burn approach may be part of this plan -- it has a double-benefit for Republicans: it is ideologically tidy and it undermines the economic recovery, which they think only helps them in 2012."

1. I would have thought
That the people of America would notice the 2% verses the 98% and that would be enough to see it.

I was wrong. I see what people post on other boards and it is amazing to see how blind they are. However, I won't lose hope. Even against all $$$$, many times the truth is revealed. It can't be hidden much longer. I believe the republicans will shoot down any increase in the debt. They are arrogant enough to do it and it will come back to be such a mistake that they will lose the house as a result and any hopes of the oval office.

Or...the republicans agree to taxes on their masters. Intense.

2. It seems like the GOP is allotted about 7 times as much time as the Dems on M$M.
Most of the time devoted to showing clips of policiticians talking goes to Republicans by a wide margin. Often they play Boehner or McConnell stating bald faced lies based in right wing fanatasies ... and most of the time they never follow up with a Democrat making a statement. Seems like the Dems would demand equal time ... to be shown along with and as a rebuttal to the Republicans chant of lies.

people hear this shit repeated over and over again and it's like Hitler said, if you are going to tell a lie, make it a BIG one. And then keep repeating it. The GOP and their public relations offices (ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS) are showing that it works. That's whay the poll numbers are so screwy.
