Chamber of Commerce presses House Republicans to back Boehner's plan
http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-money/801-economy/173625-chamber-presses-house-to-back-boehners-plan

The nation's largest business lobby is making all-out push to get House lawmakers to support House Speaker John Boehner's (R-Ohio) plan to raise the nation's debt limit.

In a letter sent to lawmakers today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce minced no words when it came to the package, and the need to raise the debt limit.

"This legislation is critical. Default on debt obligations is not an acceptable option. The time for Congress to act is now," wrote R. Bruce Josten, the chamber's executive vice president for government affairs.

He added that the chamber is considering scoring the vote for its annual scorecard.

He admitted that "while no legislation is perfect," Boehner's proposal represents a "necessary first step" by making initial spending cuts, and putting in place a mechanism to ensure further cuts in the future.

And the group made clear, as it has in the past, that the debt limit must be raised to avoid economic disaster.

Thy corporate masters have spoken.

1. Boehner's plan is completely unacceptable, under any circumstances.
Obama will veto.

11. Undoubtedly, although the markets haven't responded in like --
yet.

We knew McConnell was given "the word" and they probably hoped and prayed that would do the trick.

I have never witnessed such a convoluted, hour-by-hour changing, issue. It's dizzying and just gobsmacking it's occurring. I'm continually shaking my head in disbelief.

12. The CofC is miffed that they are getting what they paid for from GOP. Trouble is...
The GOP is not the only RW show in town. The Tea Party outfit has out nut-hussled the GOPer, and want der way or da hiway.

As I have said many times before, the country has 3 choices:

(1) The Right;
(2) The Far Right; and
(3) The Shit-in-your-pants-and-go-to-heaven Right.

The Democratic Party -- which wants NOTHING to do with anyone to the "left" of Jimmy Carter -- must learn how to pay fealty to the CofC, even if the Chamber is momentarily confused by all their children.
