CNN Poll: Time to clean house in Congress
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/08/09/cnn-poll-time-to-clean-house-in-congress/
"And the CNN/ORC International Poll released Tuesday also indicates that while Republicans may have had the upper hand in the recent battle over raising the debt ceiling, they appear to have lost a lot of ground with the public and the party's unfavorable rating is now at an all time high."
"A lot of that anger seems directed toward the GOP. According to the survey, favorable views of the Republican party dropped eight points over the past month, to 33 percent. Fifty-nine percent say they have an unfavorable view of the Republican party, an all-time high dating back to 1992 when the question was first asked.

"The poll indicates that views of the Democratic party, by contrast, have remained fairly steady, with 47 percent saying they have a favorable view of the Democrats and an equal amount saying they hold an unfavorable view."

Let's only hope this foretells an utter destruction of the GOP in the 2012 election. And this time with no need for Mr. Obama to worry about re-election, he can do the things he wishes to do without an insanely right wing House to fight him every step of the way.

1. The problem is that everyone thinks the problem is with the other guy's Representative, not theirs.
As long as their guy brings them goodies, which have been stolen from the future, they re-elect him/her.

4. not any more...from the article
That 41 percent, in the polling world, is an amazing figure. Throughout the past two decades, in good times and bad, Americans have always liked their own member of Congress despite abysmal ratings for Congress in general," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "Now anti-incumbent sentiment is so strong that most Americans are no longer willing to give their own representative the benefit of the doubt. If that holds up, it could be an early warning of an electorate that is angrier than any time in living memory."

3. With the sort of gerrymandered districts we have most folks are pretty happy with their Congressman
I'm a liberal. Although I live in a Republican Town in a Republican part of Monmouth County I am actually quite happy that my district is a weird looking concoction that includes as its biggest population center Princeton. I therefore have the pleasure of being represented by liberal Democrat Rush Holt, who is in my opinion a very good Congressman. Most of my neighbors may beg to differ. I usually have the only Holt sign on my block much to the consternation of the Tea Party couple two houses down.

The point is unless you're a conservative in a liberal Congressman's district or vice versa you're probably going to vote for your incumbent. Even if you're not thrilled with your guy you're probably going to vote for him or her because the other party's candidate is going to be much worse.

5. Let's start with Todd Rokita!
I never thought the Limbots of this gerrymandered district could elect somebody worse than Steve Buyer.

I was wrong.

The district was restructured last year and is not as Gerrymandered as it was, so maybe...
