Rick Perry's Army of God

Rick Perry's Army of God

A little-known movement of radical Christians and self-proclaimed prophets wants to infiltrate government, and Rick Perry might be their man.

On September 28, 2009, at 1:40 p.m., God’s messengers visited Rick Perry.

On this day, the Lord’s messengers arrived in the form of two Texas pastors, Tom Schlueter of Arlington and Bob Long of San Marcos, who called on Perry in the governor’s office inside the state Capitol. Schlueter and Long both oversee small congregations, but they are more than just pastors. They consider themselves modern-day apostles and prophets, blessed with the same gifts as Old Testament prophets or New Testament apostles.

The pastors told Perry of God’s grand plan for Texas. A chain of powerful prophecies had proclaimed that Texas was “The Prophet State,” anointed by God to lead the United States into revival and Godly government. And the governor would have a special role.

The day before the meeting, Schlueter had received a prophetic message from Chuck Pierce, an influential prophet from Denton, Texas. God had apparently commanded Schlueter—through Pierce—to “pray by lifting the hand of the one I show you that is in the place of civil rule.”

Gov. Perry, it seemed.

Schlueter had prayed before his congregation: “Lord Jesus I bring to you today Gov. Perry. ... I am just bringing you his hand and I pray Lord that he will grasp ahold of it. For if he does you will use him mightily.”

1. This report keeps popping up, so I'll keep responding the same way
These 'people' want to subdue America and turn it into a theocracy.

They should be labeled Enemy Combatants.

2. No
They should be labled what they are TRAITORS, because that's exactly what the are...and if Perry is working with them, that makes him a traitor as well...

And personally I like the Old English punishment for treason...look it up!

6. Keep posting it, fivegoodmen
The objective of these pastors is to overthrow the US government and replace it with a Christian theocracy, using Old Testament law. The reason they disagree with sharia law is not because they think it's barbaric; they want to have almost identical laws, just in the name of Jesus/God, rather than Allah.

They are a scary and dangerous group of people, and I fear their numbers are increasing.

4. What an amazing coinkydink...
I got a message from God last week that said to watch for the sign of Satan: Schlueter or Pierce will raise somebody's hand. I wasn't sure what it meant at the time.

8. Texas? The Prophet State?
Are these "apostles" delusional or just opportunistic? I feel like I woke up in some crazy alternate universe.

How come idiot prophets come from desert areas? Is it something in the lack of water?

10. It's a combination of dehydration, sun fried brains and sensory deprivation
If they'd wear hats and take cell phones along maybe they wouldn't go as crazy unless they'd started out that way.

Perry started out that way.
