Iraqis’ 10 tips to beat blackout heat
Sweltering locals gloat a little, offer guidance on how to adapt

Iraqis who have suffered for months with little electricity gloated Friday over a blackout in the northeastern United States and southern Canada and offered some tips to help Americans beat the heat.

FROM FREQUENT SHOWERS to rooftop slumber parties, Iraqis have developed advanced techniques to adapt to life without electricity.
Daily highs have soared above 120 degrees recently as Iraq’s U.S. administrators have been unable to get power back to prewar levels. Some said it was poetic justice that some Americans should suffer the same fate, if only briefly.
“Let them taste what we have tasted,” said Ali Abdul Hussein, selling “Keep Cold” brand ice chests on a sidewalk. “Let them sit outside drinking tea and smoking cigarettes waiting for the power to come back, just like the Iraqis.”

Americans are not able to empathize.

2. I thought the Iraqis were actually quite polite about it.

The worst I heard was that our blackout should last for weeks. Nobody said it should last for MONTHS, as theirs has.

The frequent showers would be nice, but tall buildings lose water. It's electrically pumped.

I didn't hear anyone say anything undeserved. They were civil about it.

3. If you have ever met people who have travelled to Iraq or Middle East
they all say just about the same thing. Wonderful, friendly, relaxed people. If you pay attention to Discovery, NG... channels documentaries you also hear most every host say the same thing. (But Bush and our Whore Media don't want you to know that.)

1. I'm nowhere near being convinced this 'terrorism' isn't made by our own secret government, Bush-Cheney types, but even if it partly exists I think it's just like muggers, rapists, murders in the U.S., a very small percentage thus it's immoral to punish so many innocent people.

2. I think the GOP/Bush Crime Family/American Media Whores/Robertson/Falwell have successfully demonized all Middle Eastern people in the minds of most American citizens. These people don't deserve any respect because they're less than animals.

4. How true
Anyone who has spent time in Iran knows those people
are great. Great people. We have no right to attack that country.
