New York City and Taiz, Yemen: A Tale of Two Protests
NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg's announced stance of letting Wall Street protesters make their voices heard stands in contrast to some actions taken by his own police department to date - actions that actually helped fuel the protests when videos of women being pepper sprayed went. Those actions appear to mirror events occurring halfway around the world in Yemen, where women were stoned Monday for protesting.
