foreclosed home owners re-occupy their homes
http://www.nationofchange.org/foreclosed-homeowners-re-occupy-their-homes-1322152600

Carolyn Gage was evicted from her foreclosed home in January. Earlier this month, she moved back in.

“I’ve been in here for 50 years. I know no other place but here. I left and it was just time for me to come back home,” said Gage, who is in her mid-50s.

Gage’s monthly payments spiked after her adjustable rate mortgage kicked in, and she could no longer afford the payments on her three-bedroom house in the city’s Bayview Hunters Point district. She says she tried to modify her loan with her lender, Florida-based IB Properties, but to no avail.

When Gage initially left about 10 months ago, she took some personal items with her, but left most of the furniture and continued paying for some utilities.

1. Foreclosures
This is the kind of stuff that really gets to me. This woman has been there longer than most of the bank employees have probably been alive. The fact that she's tried to refi and the greedy bank stuck it to her shows just how sick society has become. Where is all of the help that the government allocated for programs to help people stay in their homes?
Face it the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer. It suxs.

4. I would have been back in the home before she was.
There is no way a bank would have taken my home from me without me leaving some way to get back in. A broken window or something, but I would have been back in (illegally) the next day.

5. Marcy Kaptor was the one who wanted people to stay in their homes years ago. It saved lots of people
The house of cards that is the debt system is in its death throes. The banks had made enough money off of her, she was a stabilizing force in her community most likely, not doing anyone any harm. What the media never picks up on is the fact that these forced relocations, like job losses and schools being closed, all the rest of it are tearing apart the civil fabric of society. This causes families to lose contact, kids to lose friends, degenerates their chances for education and a future. It's just total destruction that is brought about by crookedness. That's why regulations must be in place, and the enforcement of such must be funded. We can't expect crooks to police themselves. Or the police to police themselves, either...
