When Fascism Comes to America
When Fascism Comes to America
by Maureen Farrell

I. When Fascism Comes to America, It Will Be Embraced by FOX News

"The American fascist would prefer not to use violence. His method is to poison the channels of public information. With a fascist the problem is never how best to present the truth to the public but how best to use the news to deceive the public. . ."– Former Vice President Henry A. Wallace, the New York Times, April 9, 1944

"Fox is not objective. Fox is a Republican propaganda machine." – Roger Ebert

In 1944, Henry A. Wallace, one of three Vice Presidents to serve under Franklin D. Roosevelt, assessed the threat of fascism in America and predicted that the time might come when the media was in collusion with the ruling power. "American fascism will not be really dangerous until there is a purposeful coalition among the cartelists, the deliberate poisoners of public information. . . ," he wrote.

1. Can we prevent it?
Power has been consolidating to the top for several years. Is it possible to give power back to the people, or is it too late?

2. Well, that's what Howard Dean wanted to do -- give power back
to the people. The people who run the Democratic Party couldn't take that chance and saw to it (with a little help from Repugs and the media) that he was defeated. So, you figure it out.

3. We will probably have to take back our liberties the old fashioned way ...
with our own bleeding hands. Our founding fathers understood that in order to keep what they had won we would have to stay vigilant because there were always fascist forces at the ready to take them away. Unfortunately Americans are so brainwashed with fear and propaganda that they will willingly trade their freedoms for security.

Kissinger said it so well at a Bilderburg conference in 1992: "Today Americans would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful. This is especially true if they were told there was an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead with world leaders to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well being granted to them by their world government." (of course, he didn't know he was being secreted recorded)

But the rejoinder comes from our own ben Franklin: "They that would give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

The take home message -- we're fucked -- for now.

Soon we'll have to man and woman the barricades!
