GOP Welfare Queens
The noted figures in the article are from the government census reports and shows the states who paid in more to the feds than they got back, and visa versa. On a red/blue map it is the same as the 2004 election map with the only exception being New Mexico!

4. The Map I Saw From the Tax Foundation is 2003
The only exception was New Mexico. It overlays the 2004 election map perfectly.

5. We're talking about tax dollars given and taken away
We are talking for every $ paid to the feds, what the return is to the state. The blue states paid more while the red paid less than what was returned.
