Is Ohio paying price for swinging the election?
<snip>

A central Ohio mail-order business is hearing the fallout from the election after Sen. John Kerry conceded Ohio and the presidency to George W. Bush. Someone placing an order from Florida thanked Ohioans in general, saying, “We were tired of taking crap. It’s Ohio’s turn.

<snip>

Someone placing an order said he was boycotting the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, Cedar Point and Geauga Lake.

A Pennsylvanian said she was a very sore loser and was very upset with the election’s result. She suggested that a moat be built along the Ohio-Pennsylvania border to keep Ohioans out or in, depending on your point of view. She should forward her idea to the Department of Homeland Security.

<snip>

Around Ohio, some people just refuse to give up hope. The hard-core Kerry supporters still keep election signs in their front yards more than two weeks after their standard-bearer quit, as if that will somehow change the vote totals in the promised recount. The signs are liable to be there in spring, if not longer, if they survive the Ohio winter.

10. Morans in Arizona were apparently lining up for it too.
At least Ohio voters put up a fight.

2. This Is Just The Little Stuff
Such things as grumpy telephone calls and cranks calling for moats are just little stuff. I suspect that the stuff that's going to hit our deluded brethren in the red states will be much more unpleasant. Some of it will be the brain drain, as partnered gays and lesbians ask corporate and university recruiters if their states have anti-"gay marriage" laws, and as other thinkers and doers leave for better business opportunities.

I also doubt that voting for Gee Dubya is going to save many red state hired hands from losing their jobs, their health benefits, or both. Nor can Imperious Leader shield American companies and employees from the effects of foreign boycotts of American businesses,

I think that a lot of red state voters should start getting ready for what was the Southern trend before the War Between the States (Or what is typical of our Latin neighbors to the South)--big farms and businesses owned by a tiny few and everybody else either poorly-paid proles working at minimum wage or less or the owner's dependent service classes.

BTW I do live in Texas and am disgusted at my fellow Texans' folly.

7. What hits us will hit us all.
It is happening now, watch the shrinking dollar and cross reference the new debt ceiling.

Ohio will catch this the same as California and Pennsylvania. We are all going to suffer. Europe can't sell their goods here, and our jobs manufacturing and high tech are going.

I may be in a red State but I never voted for any of the parties responsible for this crap.

9. that's why i wish more blue staters would move to the red states.
it wouldn't take much and wouldn't take long before the republicans are outnumbered, which would totally flip them out.

though the states that went blue are great places to live -- hell, most of this country is pretty nice aesthetically -- the red states could use their collective intelligence raised.

if they become abandoned they will, indeed, turn into the shitholes you've described. the few with money will rule the many poor. for one thing, i'd hate watching those bastards make even more money off the poor. and for another, an influx of blue staters will dilute their power, while at the same time giving workers other options besides working for today's equivalent of the planter class.

12. I refuse to believe
that Ohio voted awol chimp into office.In my heart I know America voted for change.I know that Gore was suppose to be in office in 2000 and I know that this election was stolen from Kerry as well.

It is the criminals in the Repig party that did this not Ohians.

14. Small observation

Nah, they're just making a statement: Kerry is MY president.

More power to 'em. No defeat, no surrender.
