The Rise and Fall of a Republican Lie
I wrote a pretty lengthy article on the UN slamming the US about being stingy. Thought I'd share it here:

"It was a cataclysmic disaster, and the human toll is absolutely breathtaking. In addition it is estimated that there were billions of dollars of damage to property. Countries have been pledging donations to the relief effort. Many developed western nations came under criticism yesterday when a UN official questioned why they were being so stingy. The Republican Noise Machine kicked into high gear."

It's not that they're stingy-- I think they just-don't-care.

These guys aren't exactly humanitarians, you know.

Their priorities are of a strange ilk indeed-- the rich, the corporations are what matter. How much longer can they play this monstrous game??

You should have heard Malloy last night!!!!

2. They'll continue to play this game
until people start to stand up to them, and that means the mainstream churches.

Those churches have been afraid to speak up for fear of alienating pubbie members for far too long. If they keep silent now, they have lost whatever they ever had in the way of being Christian.

3. Great. Thanks for the clarification.
I'll be sure to point out to anyone spewing the "they hate America line" that the UN official was including other Western nations and Europe in the comment. That seems to have been lost in all the spin.
