Yes, Charles Osgood is all for Moral Relativism now that the Republicans

are in control of all three Branches of our government.

Check out this disgusting rationalization of Delay's immoral behavior as alright because the rules are "so Old."

Osgood File for Tuesday, 4 Jan 05 (the 8:25 edition)=

http://www.theosgoodfile.com/osgood/tues3.htm

excerpt -

So they scolded Delay. And now, with the new Congress in place and beginning to organize itself, the Republican leadership is floating a proposal … to change Rule Number One. Because they have discovered that Rule Number One is too strict. And, well, you have to admit it IS pretty strict - "a Member … of the House shall conduct himself at all times in a manner that reflects creditably…" At ALL times? Surely you should be allowed to stink up the place ONCE in a while.

And the rules are so OLD! Some date back to 1798, when the House almost kicked out a member from Vermont for spitting on another member during a vote. It's not as if DeLay spits on people.

But, you know, suppose he had to? I mean they're going to try to reform Social Security this session. You're not going to get YES votes for that playing Miss Manners. That's why men carry handkerchiefs.
---------------------

Whaaaat?!? Those of us who served in the Active Duty Military of NCO or Officer ranks could be prosecuted for "Conduct Unbecoming an Officer (or NCO)."

Why should we expect ANYTHING LESS from our elected representatives who SERVE US (the people).

Is Charles Osgood ON DOPE or is he just giddy over the Republicans "power grab" and our new epiphany of moral relativism for Republican representatives ONLY?

2. I'm not so sure ...
Admittedly, I only measure a little above the average on intelligence tests, I'm usually adept at discerning a satirical narrative. If THIS "Osgood File" is satire, it's veiled almost too well for the Average American to discern.

Just my (an average Democrat's) opinion =

3. Haven't read the link yet...
but I have to stand up for Osgood, I like him. If more Repugs were like him, we would have a fair respectable fight on our our hands. CBS Sunday Morning is one of my favorite shows, regardless of Osgood's political affiliation....

4. Understood. But please take a moment to read this article when
you have time. IMHO it's nuanced beyond belief. No, I've read Osgood before and found him OK, but this piece seemed off the wall. Perhaps even brilliant pundits have their bad days?

6. Ok, you may be right ...
Like I said, although I've earned a both B.S. and M.S. degrees they sure as hell were not in Project English. <snicker>

Too damn droll for me. I think Osgood is a somewhat likable geek ... cute but not the kind to sate my interest in pundits. Perhaps it will help if I brew another espresso on my new fancy smancy pump machine.

I loves my lattes and consider Osgood a first class snob. :P

7. That sarcasm was by Dave Ross. Osgood IS a Repuke, and I have written

several letters to CBS about his right-wing opinion pieces.
Read carefully and you will see Ross's name at the top.

(Dave Ross is a liberal who substitutes for Osgood on occasion.)
