Something has occurred to me, WRT "scam artists" & Shrub cabal
We hear, on a regular basis, about folks who fell for some sort of fraud/scam operation...but the story's always the same: they failed to question/come forward/question because it's so embarrassing to admit to falling for the old "too good to be true" number. And I understand the mindset, it's human nature...nobody wants to be revealed as a 'sucker.'

I'm not sure where the 'tipping point' is when people finally decide they can speak out and flat out admit they were 'had.' Maybe when the loss of resources exceeds the expectation of greed - greed and gullibility are a dangerous combination, and Amurikans seem to have huge reserves of both if the polls are anywhere near close.

"Fool me once, shame on you.............can't get fooled again"

:eyes: :grr:

1. Tipping Point might be far away, still
My dad once had a girlfriend who subscribed to some ultra right-wing magazine. She answered an ad to invest in some machine or device that was supposedly going to save companies millions by recycling their energy or something. She sent in a 10,000$ investment. Kept getting upbeat reports on this machine and how it was going to revolutionize every industry, etc, etc,--but because it was going to cost the power companies money, the power companies were fighting it tooth and nail. She soon got additional solicitations to pay for the attorneys who were going to fight the power companies to get this fabulous machine on the market--she actually sent a few thousand more in, a bit at a time, and tried to get my father to go in with her.

He ultimately convinced her to stop sending in money, but without his intervention I think she would be sending in a thousand here, a thousand there to this day.

So, yes, wingnuts are really gullible and really greedy, and they refuse to give up their illusions or admit to their own stupidity even if it costs them everything.

3. We're talking McDonald land people here and they certainly
can be fooled again/twice/a few times/and a few times more. As long as they can afford a big-mac they feel all is good.
