Was Saddam Supporting Terrorism Throughout the Middle East?
Was Saddam supporting serror throughout the Middle East? As I was flipping around while "Gilmore Girls" was in commercial (yes, it's more of a girls show, but it's a damn fine show), I caught a bit of Bill O'Reilly's Talking Points. He said that Saddam supported terrorism through the Middle East? Now, as far as I remember, there were some terrorists in his country. But did he actually support them financially or with weapons? And was there ever a lot of communication between Saddam and terrorists?

1. yes he was supporting palastine
he was giving $25,000 to the families of suicide bombers. Those documents were found months ago. They were found in arafats headquarters when they had him holed up in the one room there.

2. Okay...
But anything besides that? I don't mean to diminish the significance of that, but I don't think it's as bad as supporting Osama bin Laden.

I do think salmon pac(something like that) was a training camp for terrorists. It was the shell of an airliner.727 i think, but as i said i havent looked into it much.

5. Those guys
were definitly associated with Al Quaida and were training in Iraq, but it was in a corner of the country that Saddam didn't controll next to Iran, so it's hard to pin them on him.

At the same time, it's a good thing that their camp has been overrun as they were for sure training new terrorists there on techniques to hijack planes and kidnap people, and were already using suicide bombers to terrorize the nearby Kurds.

7. So then
So then the claims of Saddam being connected to AQ weren't really accurate?

9. I wouldn't say that.
I'd say they were utter bullshit, and nobody in his or her right mind considered them anything but 1) reprehensible or 2) laughable.

Secular socialist Hussein was supporting fundamentalist Bin Laden about as much as Bill Clinton supports Pat Robertson.

4. The Saudis
gave far more money to the Palestinians than Saddam ever could.

And in any case, Palestinians have nothing to do with the WTC.

The word 'terrorist' has been badly misused in the last couple of years.

10. Yes and no
He supported politically and financially a small number of Palestinian groups that employed terrorist tactics. Thing is, Libya, Syria, Iran, Egypt, Sudan, and Israel do, too.

Saddam Hussein did not support politically or financially any terrorist group that targeted Americans, however.
