There's hope yet!

There's an administrative assistant here. She is elderly and has tons of money (she actually offered all of the Jewish employees here money to serve dinner and wash dishes at her Christmas party). She works here because it's something to do. A lark.

She's also a rabid Republican. She addressed Vince's Congressional bid with, "Oh, I like that Sensenbrenner. He's got a good head on his shoulders, and he's a nice guy." (Most people who like F. Jim's politics still think he's a jackass personally.)

She actually said today, "Bush is spending too damn much. Three-quarters-of-a-trillion to do something we did in the 1960s. We need Bush out." (She went on to name two Democrats she liked but said anyone who would take control of the spending was OK in her book.)

Pigs are officially starting to fly.

Talked to a friend of mine who is a Republican elected official. He told me flat out "I'm not voting for Bush again. This guy's a disaster."
