WASHINGTON, July 29 �E Despite renewed warnings about possible airline hijackings, the Transportation Security Administration has alerted federal air marshals that as of Friday they will no longer be covering cross-country or international flights, MSNBC.com has learned. The decision to drop coverage on flights that many experts consider to be at the highest risk of attack apparently stems from a policy decision to rework schedules so that air marshals don�t have to incur the expense of staying overnight in hotels.

I think this is something that needs even more attention. This is preposterous. If the mods lock it fine, but I hope they don't because this is a call to spread this far and wide...I'm flying soon, are you?

Seriously....... It would be PATRIOTIC for the airport hotels to help their country in this way.......

Just for a few months.....since the WH says it's temporary......

How can we present this to the hotel CEOs???

5. My partner's Mom is due to fly up here to PA

from Florida in a week or so...

due to the terra-lert and pulling of sky marshalls she is considering driving up instead... She's in her 80's

She changed her mind when she figured she would lose her money on the plane ticket, the 2 day drive, cost of gas, staying at a motel overnight, plus the wear and tear on her 10 year old car...

as of this afternoon, she is going to take the plane, but did mumble that is the terra-lerts kept up she may cancel the trip all together
