him: hahaha, global warming is as real as santa clause

me: why is it not real

him: the green weenies made it up
him: "save the trees!!"

me: good argument

him: ok, maybe your right... the sky is falling
him: we are bad!!
him: industry is bad
him: technology...bad!!
him: cars emit bad fumes!

me: no i dont think the skys falling, i dont think its going to hurt humans soon, but almost a third of the species on earth are goign to be extinct in the next 20 years or so

him: so lets make electric ones

me: you see everything in black and white
him: in fact, lets just get rid of them
him: and these compters... im sure theyve been responsible for killing one or two
him: lets get rid of them too

me: you're f'n nuts
him: hahaha electrictiy while we are at it

1. When one believes hypocritical drug addicts

That's what happens. His opening line "on the coldest day of the year in new york, Gore blasts Bush* on global warming." was lifted word for word from today's OxyMoron show.

3. Which in turn lifted it word-for-word
from the headline of last night's Drudge Report.

2. this is the classic RW argument: a false dichotomy!
He asserts two choices - get rid of all technology, or do something about the environment.

This is SOP on hate radio and freerepublic.com - it's a juvenile way to avoid the issue, and nothing more. But they've been taught to think like this.

7. The RW has taught
that intuition is how one gages the environment, not science. They would never consider opening a science publication. Knowledge is not easy for these tards to grasp. Complicated concepts intimidate them, so they ridicule like the children they are.

14. In an organized Totalitarian fashion, too
Hitler and the Nazis set up false dichotomies, too.

Coincidence?

4. oh those silly people who try to think
don't they know that everything means nothing and it's all pointless?

I'm sick of this attitude. Does your friend have any children? I doubt it. Does he ever contemplate his own future as the most idiotic and clueless ewe in a nation of sheep? Obviously no.

It'll all be funny until he feels like putting the barrel of a gun in his own mouth to end the suffering. All he had to do to avoid that is to listen and use his brain independently. He won't.

8. No he doesn't have any children.
He's a 17 year old like me, although unlike me, he's been raised in a very rich family. Also, I doubt he even knows who John Edwards is, and when I told him about the virtual 4-way tie in Iowa, he said, and I quote, "they all suck." I'm thinking I'll stick to sports-talk with him from now on.

11. I hope your rich friend gets a better education than George Bush did
Perhaps he will learn compassion and tolerance someday.

6. There is one thing you'll never get a Repug to understand
And that's the difference between weather and climate.

As long as they can't grasp the difference between those two concepts, they will never understand the issues behind global warming.
