Did Anyone Else Catch George McGovern On Meat Ball With Tweety Tonight?
Man, how did we elect Tricky Dick over this guy. He was sharp as a tack on quite a few issues. He really summed up well why RW's are able to brand themselves as true patriots when all of the vets in this contest are on the Democratic Ticket. Martin Seen was excellent as well.

1. Every time I see McGovern on the tube
I'm reminded of how blind the electorate was in '72 and continues to be today. George McGovern is the first and last truly great American I've ever had the honor to vote for. I wish we had a candidate of his caliber today.

5. Truly a great man. Theres a true World War II hero.
I read it a while back and he truly is a leader.

Risked his life for his co-pilots. Incredible story. I think he received the Purple Heart?

But, seemingly, because he was a Democrat and because he knew Vietnam was a sham and spoke out against it, the media painted him as a pinko liberal. A title that I would be proud to hold by the way.

I agree with Howard Dean that we need to feel pride in our party again.

There are so many things and so many great people that do make me proud of our party.

8. Risked his life for his crew is more than Poppy Bush did.
Poppy bailed instead of attempting a water landing.

2. Tweezer Could Not Bring Himself to Do His Usual Hachet Job
Tweezer actually asked a good Dem question, and TWICE. He summed up McGOVERN's heroic military record, 70-80 flight missions in WW II, then asked, "How come you lost to NIXON who never went to war (sidebar, I think NIXON was a Navy officer), and a couple of the current Dem candidates have great military records and are running against (Shrub) who NEVER went to war----and the Dems who do the fighting for the country get saddled with the (wimp? label)?"

McG answered it fully, saying that Dems don't wrap themselves in the flag every day or brag about what they have done, but then Tweezer asked it again, and McG expanded by saying that most vets he knows DON'T TALK about their exploits and that when the Repukes bang the war drum and the bands are playing people tend to fall in line and therefore opposed the Dems who are saying wait-a-minute-now. Tweezer also said that Shrub-CHEENEE needed the war experience in order not to kneejerk themselves into war.

Too bad we can't use our Dem-Icon brigade so that Tweezer will be AWED into submission ALL the time.

7. simply put, chicken hawks use us to do their fighting for them.
The next draft if there is one in 2005 will be to take the kids of the middle and lower classes into war to die in order to grow the wealth of the rich ruling class.
