10. dont believe it
The turkey wasnt plastic. It was a decorative display while the troops probably ate sliced turkey ala Buddig courtesy of Halliburton's best subcontracted underpaid local talent. Its a shame a solid story can be self destructed by a simple mistake like the "plastic" turkey myth. Accuracy is our friend.

13. From CBS and the Washington Post.
Edited on Thu Jan-15-04 11:07 PM by David Zephyr

"That beautiful golden-brown turkey President Bush held during his surprise visit to U.S. troops in Iraq was for show, not for eating, the Washington Post reports.

"The newspaper reported that in response to questions about the bird, the White House said the turkey was a decoration adorning the steam table where GIs picked up their food on cafeteria-style trays.

"The White House said the bird had been furnished by a contractor, and that officials had no idea that the turkey would be in the mess hall, or that the president would pick up the trophy turkey."

12. OK, Here's A Summary So Far.
Is there any other Internet site with so many quick minds. Look at the embarrassing and failed photo-ops of George W. Bush:

1.) Failed Bush Photo-Op: The Aircraft Carrier just off of San Diego's shoreline with "Mission Accomplished" and with Bush dressed like G.I. Joe declaring an "end to major hostilities in Iraq".

2.) Failed Bush Photo-Op: The drive-by visit to MLK's sacred grave site on his way to a $2,000 per plate fundraiser where he was corrected booed and jeered by over 1,000 people.

3.) Failed Bush Photo-Op: Bush reading the Goat Story for 30 minutes while 3,000 Americans perished in the most famous buildings in the world.

4.) Failed Bush Photo-Op: The Plastic Turkey he carried on a Hollywood prop of a platter to troops at the Baghdad Airport.

5.) Failed Bush Photo-Op: Bush bragging to an adoring crowd with planted questions of how he was also a pilot and how he'd seen the first plane hit the first tower on a television just before he went in to read to the children on 9/11.

Please chime in if you have any other failed Bush photo-ops that we are forgetting.

15. and the Earth Day blizzard ...
Unusual snowfall ruins his attempt to go out and make like he's building trails in the Appalachians. The press bus gets held up by the snow, and "Ranger George" ends up having to seek shelter in a trailer!

16. I'd love to see all his photo ops...
in one commercial. The one where he's in the classroom reading the goat book, while a nice little sentence comes on the bottom of the screen, 'Right now, 3,000 people are dying and a nation is watching the destruction of the WTC in horror.' (Well, that's pretty tasteless, but it's the truth). But with the turkey, I'd like to see an arrow pointing to the turkey with the word, 'PROP' flashing off and on. And with the flight suit, I'd like to see a sentence listing all the other world leaders who wore military uniforms while in office: Hitler, Stalin, Kruschev, Napoleon, Alexander The Great--but NEVER an American President, not even military Generals Eisenhower or Grant. The MLK photo op should show the Republican party buses parked in front of the protestors with the sentence, 'African Americans forced to stand in the back of a bus--again'.

27. Here are 2 more:

1) He's in a church (?) and there's a crown hovering above his head and it says "King of Kings", meaning Bush is Jesus the 2nd.

2) He's standing behind a podium, and the presidential seal is behind him. The photographer has faded out the seal, so it looks like a hazy, golden halo which perfectly fits around his face. It looks like a REAL halo, which seems to imply that Bush is a holy figure.

3) Bush is standing by Mt. Rushmore, making a speech. His face is positioned so it's exactly next to the rock carvings of the former presidents. Even his profile matches them exactly.

4) Bush is standing next to an oil painting portrait of Washington. Bush is positioned so he's very close to Washington, as if those two are friends and they give each other advice.

These are the most flagrant, outrageous and disgusting displays of shameless Photo-Opping. And I've heard there's LOTS more where those came from.

30. How about the one where he had men take their ties off
To make them look less professional, at various times I know that they had instructed people attending events to dress down to look more "common".

Or how about the factory where he proclaimed how his tax cuts were going to save the nation. The factory later closed.

IMO his worst was the State of the Union Address last year when he lied to Congress, this should be an impeachable offense.
