Thanks to all the good folks that have exposed the Wall St Journal, RNC,
and Matt Drudge's website for their intentional attempts to discredit General Wes Clark's comments about Iraq and Saddam Hussein. By selectively quoting his testimony before a Committee of Congress, they were able to make it appear that the General was saying something he really wasn't saying.

Without the research of all the good folks here at DU and other places, they would have been able to get away with their under-handed and scandalous attempt to discredit someone that disagrees with their political agenda and their ill-advised and illegal war in Iraq.

We can only hope that all of America reads about their pathetic efforts to manipulate the truth about Bush and the war in Iraq by attempting to discredit his political opponents. If there is justice in the world, we would see the advertisers of the Wall St Journal question their loyalty to the papers ad department and we would also see that Matt Drudge is the outlet for the RNC for illegitimate and unpalatable stories that are too "dangerous" for the RNC to publicize themselves.

14. Liberman Campaign Covers Up Response
Why is it, do you think, that the Liberman campaign has decided to remove any mention of their uninformed response to the RNC smear of Clark from their official web site?? They have every press release including endorsements from every podunk Sheriff, but this one seems to have evaporated in the ether?!?

Liberman has shown himself to be easily duped and therefore unqualified for the job of President, let alone Senator.

2. Lou Dobbs
I am currently in an email battle with Lou Dobbs over this. First he accussed me of being something like a Clark slave. He has not emailed me back since I asked him if he even bothered to read Clarks testimony, after I sent him this bit from Clarks testimony. If he replies I will post his response here.

(In addition, Clark said: "If the efforts to resolve the problem by using the United Nations fail, either initially or ultimately, then we need to form the broadest possible coalition, including our NATO allies and the North Atlantic Council if we're going to bring forces to bear. We should not be using force until the personnel, the organizations, the plans that will be required for post-conflict Iraq are prepared and ready.")

5. History is reapeating itself all over again. They twisted Gore's words
and tried portray him as a liar. I am glad Clark is on the ball and returning fire as quickly as he can. The rethuglicans MO is getting old, it is the same old song and dance. They have done this to EVERYONE who poses a threat to their control of power. It should be ovbious to the average american who can think for themselves.

As far as history repeating itself, let's hope that it stops here. I am not in the mood for another stolen election and hope a majority of americans aren't in the mood either. Can the republicans afford that?

6. Lou
Here is exactly what Lou reported last night.

General Wesley Clark today said Congress should determine whether President Bush was criminal by advocating a war against Saddam Hussein. He said the president misled the American public on the issue of Iraq. General Clark, likes to say he has been a consistent opponent of the war in Iraq but the reality appears to be much less clear.

In testimony to Congress in September 2002, as reported by the "Drudge Report," General Clark said if peaceful efforts to resolve the Iraq issue fail the United States should form a coalition to bring force to bear. General Clark also wrote an op-ed article in the "Times of London" in April shortly after the coalition overthrew Saddam Hussein's regime. In that article, General Clark said, "President Bush and Tony Blair should be proud of their resolve in the face of so much doubt."

(OF COURSE HE FAILED TO REPORT THIS PART)
In addition, Clark said: "If the efforts to resolve the problem by using the United Nations fail, either initially or ultimately, then we need to form the broadest possible coalition, including our NATO allies and the North Atlantic Council if we're going to bring forces to bear. We should not be using force until the personnel, the organizations, the plans that will be required for post-conflict Iraq are prepared and ready."

12. Fatboy was sputtering and interrupting a caller who dared
try to read the entire statement, which the caller obviously had in hand, over the airwaves.

Rush finally cut him off because the guy would not roll over for the non-truth "selected statement" that Rush was pushing.

As it was obvious, whenever somebody manages to slip through the cracks and get a well-spoken, thoroughly researched opposition statement through on the show, Rush can't handle it, and has to do the O'Reilly factor - "Shut up, shut UP, SHUT UP!" and cut them off.
