There is only one acceptable behavior for Democrats at the State of the Union.

Not applauding. And remaining seated.

I don't care if he announces a tax cut for homeless puppies. I want to see Democrats sit there without applause. Sure, applaud him coming in; sure, applaud him going out. This should suffice in the "respect for the office" column.

Feel free to disagree, but I'm starting my writing-process now. :)

Every Democratic member of the House and Senate should wear a simple white button with the name of a soldier killed in Iraq. A powerful and visible reminder of the blood on Bush's hands.

I just emailed Rep. David Price, unfortuately my senators are Liddy Dole :puke: and John Edwards, who surely wouldn't do anything so bold what with the campaigning and all...:eyes:

Unfortunately, from Georgia, my Congressperson (Max Burns) is a Repub, and my Senators are a Repub (Chambliss) and a DINO weasel (Zig Zag Zell Miller). So I fear it'll fall on deaf ears.

Believe me, we ALL here at DU feel the upmost sympathy for anyone who is in the voting distict of those hypocritical right wing obnoxious pain in the ASSES! Zell ESPECIALLY! If you were in my bar (and I had the money!) trust me, you wouldn't be paying for any of your drinks!

(The preceding is not an endorsment for alcohol! Although, if *I* lived in that area, I'd be drinking 39 times more than I am now!!!!!! Also, for people who don't drink alcohol, I would gladly substitute water, soda, etc. instead!!!)

Unfortunately, since I'm from Missouri I'm stuck with a republican rep and senators. But DUer's fortunate to have Dems in congress, write the letters. I'd love to see it the Shrub snubbed during the SOTU.
