How lucrative was the Florida Education contract for Dell Computers?
I just went to my child's school and saw new Dell Computers. I asked the teacher if they had a choice in the computer brand and she said no. Didn't I read on DU that the CEO of Dell made a call to Al Gore after the 2000 election and told him to concede because it would be better for the country? If this is true, being a Republican contributor, didn't Dell basically get payola here? Does anyone know how much money he's getting from Florida for this transaction?

1. OMG!
"CEO of Dell made a call to Al Gore after the 2000 election and told him to concede because it would be better for the country"...

Is this true?! If it is, I feel horrible about having purchase two Dell computers in the past few years. Never again, baby, never again!

4. Could there be any family connection between Michael Dell
and Wally O'Dell from Diebold? The name basically has the same origins.

5. Dell sucks!
Dells are the worst computers on the market. And I'm not just sayin' it cause I'm a Mac person: everyone I know with a Dell weeps and gnashes their teeth over those hunks of crap at least once a day. And if you have a problem and need to call tech support you get some guy in India that can barely speak English.

I've heard stories about Michael Dell being BFEE scum too so that's even less reason to patronize the company.
