What if....the WH press corps were grumpy old cynics?
I think a huge part of our problem with the media is the fact that beautiful young people are chosen by major outlets to cover the WH, for the most part. Chosen for their teeth, their jaw line, their sweetness.

Unfortunately, with that youthful bloom also comes a lack of experience, a propensity to be blinded by the glamour of the WH, and a pliable nature easily cowed.

Wouldn't we be better off with crusty reporters with a few decades under their belts, a sense of history and an understanding of their power?

they were.
And they were the best friends the American public had and we didn't know it.
And now they're mostly gone and nobody notices.

WHY does Kate Snow have one of the most important repertorial jobs in the whole world? She's just been signed with ABC, wooed away from CNN.

She's been out of college for about ten years.
