First let me say that I think CSpan is the best thing ever to happen to Television.
I like to listen to the calls during the morning shows. I've noticed a change in their tone and it pleases me greatly. Specifically more and more Republicans are calling in and stating quite clearly that they do not intend to vote for Bush again. Of course there are always going to be the ones who think Bush's every stinking word comes straight from the sacred heart of a loving Jesus, but them I can overlook. There are a lot less of them than there are the disgruntled Republicans who feel that their party has abandoned them.
This seems to me to be a pretty clear trend over just the last couple of weeks, but I don't have the long history with listening to these call ins to know if maybe my desire to see it is clouding what I am seeing.
Would any of you long term CSpan devotees care to comment on this because I don't want to be deluding myself.
And I've noticed a bit of trending...the only really hard support I've heard lately has been from the Christian right whackjobs who think that God put Bush in office and God (note: not the voters) will reelect him.
By the way, did you hear the guy last week who said Bush bombed Baghdad "for Jesus"? These people are damned scary.
i think the republicans who call in now are either the religious fanatics or the wealthy. sometimes there are no republicans at all calling. the host has to say that the republican lines are open "if you'd like to call."
I like Cspan, it seems they do have more pro-Bush guests on the show though.
And I wish they would allow their callers more time to make their points. It seems that anyone with anything slightly intelligent to say is cut off before they make their point.
And I didn't see any coverage of Kucinich's speeches at all (Not related to Washington Journal), but maybe I just missed it.
