Bin Laden surrending Bagdad....
The news is reporting the latest Binladen tapes are stating his followers should pull out of bagdad and attack Americans in other places. Sounds like he's retreating from that area and has decided to go back to attacking civilians. This should be a good thing for Iraqi's as it should help stablize the area and help them in sorting things out.

Of course something that helps Iraq out probably hurts most Democrat canidates if Iraq gets on track by summer. Not to mention attacks on civilians will help bushlite as people will see him as more justified in his actions (my Opinion).

2. Yeah...
George Bush really has Al Qaeda on the run, doesn't he? Instead of bin Laden being surrounded, HE gets to decide when he'll pull out and what he'll do next. Your president is a loser.

Hurts Democratic candidates??? Not likely!!!

5. Hmmmmm. If bin Laden pulls out of Baghdad and
that helps stabilize the area.... And a more stable Baghdad helps bush during this election year....

Hmmmm, bin Laden sure has done a lot to help bu$h with his agenda, starting with the new Pearl Harbor - 9/11.

I would ask you for a link to this "news" story, but I can tell from your grammar, spelling, and punctuation that I would be wasting my time.

7. Grains of salt all around please
This assumes that Mr. Ladden is directing the attacks on US troops - which is a bit of a stretch no? Most reports say the resistance comes from several diverse groups (for one I can not imagine Baath party diehards taking orders from Bin Ladden) and there is no central control (yet).

11. Surrending is Freepish for "I'm making this stuff up"
Usage:

Surrending his case for the invasion of Iraq, Bush cited Weapons of Mass Destruction Program-Related Activities, or WMDPRAs.

Cheney surrended that mobile bio-weapons labs had been discovered in Iraq.

32. It's a "mixed verb", in this case "surrender" and "surround"
It's a peculiar tactic, also variously known as "encircle and yield," and "overwhelm with white flag superiority." Lately, while it has fallen out of favor with the conventional military strategists, "surrending" has been used to dramatic effect in the NBA by the Portland Trailblazers, who confuse their opponents by blowing large leads in the 4th quarter, perhaps in the hope of securing a stunning overtime upset victory.

Either way it doesn't make a goddamned difference since the people killing American Occupiers aren't ALL al Qaida! Matter of fact I would guess that very few are actually following bin Laden's orders.

I call BULLSHIT on this thread.

29. Judging by the Iowa Caucuses people don't give a rats ass about Iraq.
What they do care about is the economy, social issues, the direction of the country and so on. All of those things bush can't and hasn't done anything about. What's interesting is that Bush's SOTU speech is that he came off even more out of touch than his father did in the early 90's.

It's sad but proves the old saying to be true that Fruit don't fall far from the tree. Like father, like son, one term and his done.

31. Not clear how that hurts Dems since
It means Dumbya fucked up once again. Take the party to the terra ists and they move the party elsewhere where there aren't a buncha troops. I'd say that hurts the repukes in a serious way since the DUMBASS just told us we're 'winning' the war on terror and we've nailed 2/3s of 'known' Al Queda leaders. Never mind the ones we don't know about who just don't care to play by Dumbyas rules. Troops get pulled out to fight another front and Iraq is still a shambles.

35. FYI...
I have been looking eveywhere for the link but can't find it now.. the story is a few days old but was on the major news websites breifly (ABC, CNN, Fox etc)

The story was just that on a website there was a call supposedly from Osama calling for the jihadis to stay out of Iraq and attack alsewhere.

Take it for what it's worth.. dont have a link, but the story was there. I didn't pay it much attention because I didn't see it as a big deal really...

Heyo

37. "Democrat canidates"?
interesting choice of words. shouldn't that be "Democratic candidates"?

also, you seem to be implying that bin laden followers attacking americans in other places is a good thing. that doesn't seem to be a typical DU attitude. here at DU we don't want our civilians or our military attacked by anyone anywhere.
