Anyone want to support Novak
and his claim that he must keep his sources private? That is a legit claim if made by a journalist. Novak is not a journalist. He is a tool of the republican party. Someone in the WH committed a crime by identifying an undercover CIA operative to Novak. Novak did his job for his boss (karl rove) and published the operatives name. This was not a news story; this was a political hit on the operatives husband. Now we find out that novak was given democratic memos by gop staff members of the U S Senate Judiciary Committee and used that info in a story. Novak is not a journalist. He is a gop operative and supporter of terror by his actions. He should be sent to GTMO to receive Ashcroft justice. He won't; because he is too valuable to bush and rove and he is getting away with it because of his false claim that he is a journalist. Journalists should be outraged.

1. I'll gladly give him an arm for support as I walk him...
into a Federal Penitentiary.

Yeah, I know, not going to happen. But, I can dream, can't I?

3. I'm not convinced it won't happen
Justice in this country is not based on what republicans want. Your dream may come true, just a little later than hoped for.

5. But can't he be
charged as a co-conspirator? If he got information about Dem memos and e-mail and used it that should be a federal offense. He is the lowest of the low and I hope to heaven something goes wrong for him.

2. He is a traitor and should be addressed as so, I e-mail CNN
They will probably promote him or give him a raise instead of termination. Traitor and nothing more.

6. I'll support him.
He can lean on me as he ascends the gallows. I'll help him get centered over the trap door. Hell, I'll even wave as the treasonous bastard drops from sight.

7. I'll "support" Novak. . .by his thumbs. . .
while someone else from intelligence gives him a little jolt of juice
in an especially tender area.

Bastard shouldn't even call himself a journalist anymore.

:hurts:

8. If Novak is a journalist
then Lord Har-Har was a British Patriot.

9. I don't know why I'm doing this, but
if Novak were publishing damaging stuff from inside the administration we would all be applauding and hi-fiving. I despise him as a rightwing toady, but the shoe could be on the other foot.

10. Totally disagree teammate
The issue is journalistic ethics. Novak has none. If a reporter aided or hurt an administration because of politics (regardless of what politics) that would be wrong. The shoe is not on the other foot. The shoe is on Novak. My original premise is still on your table - Novak is not a journalist. Agreed?

11. Two sides....
As a journalist, he has the right to keep the identitiy of his source secret.

However, the result of identifying a CIA operative may well be harmful to national security.

So, charge him or fire him for his actions. In jail, or simply unemployed, he may continue to keep his source a secret.

12. Which brings up a good point. ~ If he is a traitor does the same
hold true for his employer? They know the damage that has been done by Novak and yet still keep him employed. Is CNN also guilty of treason? They are aiding and abetting a traitor. I say a decent American firm would fire him on the spot or at least un-paid leave until resolution of the issue.
