to crowned emporer...that building behind looks like a Russian or Byzantine crown, or maybe a helmet for Genghis Khan.

4. NOT DUMB

An ASSHOLE. Not intellectual, but not stupid.

He has the instincts of PT Barnum and has been producing suckers out of the American electorate.

He knows jack shit about law, economy and any type of substantial policy. He simply has no interest in it. Rather, his interest is in "the game". He's a schmoozer. Like a serial killer, he is charming and affable. He lures you into his confidence and take everything you have.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS MAN. HE IS CUNNING AND DANGEROUS!!!!

5. Not really.
He has some basic networking skills that he learned from his family. Other than that he has a kinda frat boy charm. If his last name wasnt Bush, he would have nothing. He is a member of the old boys club who they can prop up.

Feel free to underestimate him, he isnt the one making any of the decisions that matter to the election or his administration.

6. I agree, Valjean. I think it is an act he has learned from his early
years that has worked well for him. His handlers can use it to do their nefarious deeds but their "leader" comes across as the village idiot and so no one blames him for the travesties he has created.
His strength is in his perceived weakness and he knows it.

8. Seriously? But why did he blow chunks at academics
if he's so clever? He is not a clever fellow, never had to try and never has.

12. people who think they're already smart often blow off formal education ...
I've worked in academia for awhile, and it tends to favor a) intelligent people who know how to work the system, and b) not-so-intelligent people who are good at following rules.

(I class myself as more belonging to b) than a), since I'm not great at politicking, and not super-bright, but I managed to hang in long enough to get a graduate degree.)

There are plenty of smart folks who don't want to jump through a bunch of hoops, and decide to do something else with their lives. Some of them really are incredibly creative and brilliant, and do well at whichever field they choose. But others just THINK they're geniuses, and have managed to get by so far mainly on sheer confidence, schmoozing, and luck. Bush, for example. I believe he has enough smarts to be a "b type", but can't be bothered trying because it would mean not just exerting himself, but obeying those he sees as social inferiors (e.g. poorly-paid university profs), and sometimes looking foolish in front of them.

What people like him do have is an air of certainty which can come across as highly arrogant. Sometimes this is so strong that they can get into terrible trouble and not even realize it. I think this is what motivates Bush. He's managed to convince himself that he may not have "book smarts" like his dad and grandpa, but his type of cleverness is far more important. And getting to be President has only reinforced that in his mind. He doesn't even have to feel a little bit self-conscious about not having done much in school (this shows through at his Yale commencement speech).

7. A$$hole for sure, and shame on the 'muriKan public for not being able
to recognize a liar and bullsh*t artist in their midst. But I absolutley agree that he is dangerous--the village idiot with his finger on the nuke trigger is a very scary thought. If we don't get him out in November, we can kiss what's left of the country goodbye.

:scared:

13. As a village idiot and representative of the rocks...
I resent the comparison. Most of us idiots and rocks didn't get to Yale or Harvard, so I guess we've done more with less.

Shame on Barbara Bush for giving him the silver spoon.

17. Men In Black II "Ballchineon"
Edited on Sun Jan-25-04 10:36 AM by goddess40
My 10 year old son just had his puberty class at school. When I picked him up he started to tell me about class.

He said, "we were learning about... you know... males today. They were showing pictures and I knew I had seen this somewhere before. I kept thinking and thinking and then it hit me it was the Ballchineons from Men In Black II"

We laughed all the way home!

edit:

I don't think he is the idiot that they want us to believe he is. You can't be too stupid and land a cushy job like he has. He gets to be president without having to make any decisions. Face it he is just EVIL, takes after his dear old bitch, I mean mom.
