A repug relative sent this to me. I need a quick rebuttal/timeline of the Bush* AWOL thing. Someone got a ling to a quick summary? I think I might send a lint to Symbolman's Bush/AWOL video in the mean time.

First of all, and you can look it up on snopes.com, McWhorter did NOT write this and is rather furious that someone attached his name to it. So you can start there.

Number 2: who cares? Is Clinton running for office?

Number 3: the portions about Clinton's military career contains a load of lies. Clinton was ROTC. When he dropped out of ROTC he applied for a draft deferrment. Unlike 100% of the Republican leadership in the House and Senate, Clinton grew up poor to middle class with no political connections. Therefore, his application was rejected. He went through the draft and his number was NOT pulled. He got lucky.

After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured 1,000; President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

Clinton kept his promise. During his presidency these people were arrested, convicted and are currently serving life sentences in federal prison.


After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
